Why the Big Change?

Truck Racing Parts.com company truck towing Cummins Forum.com race truck to the drags in Ogden, Utah (2006)

You were looking for information and articles regarding your diesel motor and now you are at this blog!!!

Not to worry. It is all here – You are at the right place. It may look like we are under construction for a while but that is because we have had some violent changes – a virtual house fire. It is going to take a while to recover.

A major automotive manufacturer has sternly warned us against the use of trademark related URLs that were the hub of our diesel information site. This forced us to change how the reader entered our site.

Here is what happened to the website: The old DieselDatabase.com sites revolved around aliased URLs (cumminsdatabase.com, powerstrokedatabase.com, duramaxdatabase.com, peterbiltdatabase.com, and the like – 100 more like). Now we are working on making all those sites hub on a single URL – dieseldatabase.com. We will be working on cleaning up stray codes and such. Let us know if you find links and things that do not work.

The ironic part is we were in the middle of rebuilding the site(s) into a diesel social community – not a forum but more than just articles. We think you will like the new product when we finally get done. We are building the new format on the Zend Framework, which will give us years of worry-free, good service. And we are still plugging along with that awesome task – that is why we don’t want to spend too much time cleaning up this old site, only enough to make it work again.

While we are on the subject, some of you have been asking what has happened to our store TruckRacingParts.com and where Diesel Dean went. Two and a half years ago, I (Dean) fell off a roof and shattered my pelvis. It nearly cost me my life but God is good to me. I spent six months in a wheelchair and was not able to work for two years. Recently, I purchased a brick and mortar store, thinking that would provide an income to sustain my activities – but we have been losing almost two hundred dollars per day. So that did not solve the problem – only gave me more to do. Not to worry, that is turning around, thank God.

Nonetheless, while I was unable to actively participate in the world ( and stoked up on oxycotton ), http://TruckRacingParts.com disappeared into virtual nowhere. Now the URL is leased out as an affiliate site for diesel performance products.

Needless to say, I have not been to any diesel races and have not been around to see any of you. Sorry – hopefully that will change in the future. Meanwhile, this blog will serve to accomplish online what I used to do in the field – blowin’ smoke!

Aside from the distraction of the new store, I have been trying to focus on building the new DieselDatabase.com into a diesel community. This will continue and we hope to be completed by winter 2009.

WE NEED YOUR HELP! – Most people found this site via the aliases listed above and others, few found us via DieselDatabase.com. Will you help us get the word out. Talk to your friends in the forums and tell them where to find us. All the old (and new) articles are still here! Tell everyone with links to change them – just change the base URL portion to dieseldatabase.com.

THANK YOU and HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN SOON!!!
